Mary Yeboah is a rising senior at Emory University on the dual BSN x BA degree pathway, where she is studying Nursing and African studies. For the fall 2022 semester, she will be entering the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. At Emory, she is involved in STEM Pathway, Emory ASA, 1915 Scholars, Emory Reads, Project SHINE, VOIS, and Volunteer Emory, where she volunteers and leads activities across campus.

During Spring 2022, Mary embarked on a study abroad journey to Ghana, where she got the opportunity to do an independent research study. During her four-month stay in Ghana, she worked closely with women in a town called OseiKrom, Obuasi to understand Galamsey's impact on them. Mary’s research was then given to women politicians in Accra, Ghana to mitigate policy changes. Overall, her abroad experience showed her the importance of service, which continues to move her in whatever space she enters. When she’s not out doing service, she can be found reading, playing on her guitar, writing poetry about the African diaspora, and singing. Outside of Emory, she is the Co-Founder of We The Africans and Vice President of United Youth Ghanaian Alliance, both dealing with youth mobilization across the African continent. Her passion for change inspires her wherever she goes. She enters every space with a mindset of making a difference and serving those around her!
