Join us for an illuminating panel discussion as we explore the theme of personal growth and compassion in "Caring starts with you: Strategies for personal growth and impacting others." This in-person two hour event, brought to you by the Emory Atlanta Latinx Alumni Network, promises an insightful conversation led by esteemed panelists who will delve into the essence of compassion, empathy, and kindness in personal development. Through compelling narratives and practical insights, our panelists, including moderator Yanira Puy and distinguished speakers Astrid Seijas McGeeney and Paola Cartay, will share their wisdom on cultivating caring qualities and extending them to others. Be prepared for an evening of reflection, inspiration, and actionable strategies to embark on a journey of self-discovery and community enrichment.

Yanira Puy has helped thousands of people with her coaching practice, online programs and classes, webinars, workshops, conferences, blogs, articles and podcasts. After 20 years working in major corporations in Latin America and The United States, Yanira pivoted her career path to help individuals become healthier and happier. She is a certified wellness coach and brain health trainer, with a master's degree in health coaching and founded Yanira Puy Health & Wellness. Paola Cartay graduated from the University of Zulia, with a degree in Social Communication with a mention in Advertising and Public Relations, with a master's degree in Marketing Management from the Rafael Belloso Chacin University, both universities located in the city of Maracaibo, Venezuela.

More than 20 years ago she emigrated to the United States, where she first resided in the city of Boynton Beach, Florida and had the opportunity to have a business for 4 years in the commercial cleaning field, while working at a radio station in West Palm Beach County, Radio Fiesta 1380AM. In 2007, she moved to the city of Atlanta, where he began working at COX Enterprises in the division of MundoHispanico Newspaper  for more than 10 years, now known as MundoNow and also at Univisión 34 Atlanta. Astrid Seijas McGeeney, a native of Venezuela, has lived in Atlanta for 25 plus years. Astrid migrated to Atlanta to complete her post-graduate studies, specifically an MBA to complement her JD degree from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello Law School-Caracas–Venezuela. After graduating in May 1999 with a double major in International Business and Accounting from Mercer University, she accepted an offer from Turner Broadcasting System Latin America (Warner Bros/Discovery today), where she held several roles over 22 years, from Contract Administration Manager to VP and Regional Counsel. In that role Astrid oversaw legal affairs related to Turner's operations in Latin America, with special focus on content acquisitions, original production, advertising, licensing & merchandising, and supporting all business units. While busy with a demanding job and family, she somehow found time to complete a Master of Laws (LLM) from Emory University Law in 2012. Recently she transitioned to an independent practice, acting as consultant for several clients in media rights, sales, and distribution. In parallel, she has been acting with the community, doing some volunteering work, and serving through different non-profit organizations focusing on young women and grieving support.
