Jovonni Spinner is an award-winning public health strategist and thought leader with a deep passion for improving health equity across the lifespan through research, communication, multisector partnerships, and leadership coaching. Her niche is creating culturally competent and inclusive public health programming, facilitating conversations on health equity, and influencing organizational change. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University and Emory University, she led state and national health equity driven programs like the Diversity in Clinical Trials Initiative, Community Health Worker Health Disparities Initiative, and Virginia Vaccines for Children Program, which have reached millions of consumers to help them make better-informed health decisions, obtain the services they need, and advocate for healthier communities. After earning her doctorate from Morgan State University, she founded Beacon Public Health to create healthy and whole communities by diminishing the impact of chronic diseases.
