Mental health is public health

With a degree in epidemiology, Daniele Fallin started her career in an unexpected placeā€”a genetics lab. This surprising turn allowed her to study the genetics of neuropsychiatric disorders, which inspired her career in public health.

Now as dean of the Rollins School of Public Health, Fallin draws on her early experiences to shape her work. She examines how mental health intersects with and influences a range of public health challenges. In this conversation with Josh Newton, she shares her vision for the school, emphasizing collaboration, communication, and innovation in addressing these interconnected issues.
