CEO
Good Insight
Washington, D.C.

Carlyn Madden is the founder and CEO of Good Insight, an executive search firm that specializes in placing senior executives at mission-driven organizations. Since graduating with a bachelor's degree in art history from Emory University, Madden has made Washington, D.C., her home.

While a career in the museum field wasn't in the cards for her, her college internship at The Carter Center proved to be a pivotal experience. It helped her secure her first job at the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, where her first boss had a deep admiration for President Jimmy Carter. Afterward, she returned to her roots in the arts, working with the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities. In 2013, she took the entrepreneurial path and started her own business.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Madden remains deeply involved in her community, volunteering in various leadership roles. She serves on the board of Leadership Greater Washington and the Washington Area Community Investment Fund, an organization that provides economic opportunities to low-income entrepreneurs.
