Eduardo Padilla 06C

Vice President, Strategy and News Anchor | Univision | Miami, FL

Eduardo Padilla has attended schools in the United States, Mexico, England, France, and Brazil. His international background pushed him out of his comfort zone and encouraged him to explore. Emory nurtured that sense of exploration as Padilla took courses across disciplines and found a love for storytelling. He graduated with a double major in international studies and journalism and went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from Cornell University. As vice president of strategy at Univision and news anchor for Noticias Univision 24/7’s Weekend Newscast, Padilla continues to explore, ask questions, and challenge himself.

"At Emory we were encouraged to enroll in a wide range of classes. It was thanks to Emory that I enrolled in a journalism class (to fulfill a writing requirement), fell in love with the work, and decided to pursue that career path. I also discovered interests I never knew, like biological anthropology. That class really cemented a lesson I live by as a journalist: Telling a great story requires an open mind and a full understanding of the facts. To this day, I still enjoy reading about new discoveries linking the evolutionary history of humanity. I’m just a sucker for a good story."
