Garrett South has risen as a new and dynamic leader in the field of health care, earning recognition for his vibrant approach to leadership and his profound understanding of human empathy. His journey, which has led to his success in health care, was significantly influenced by his time at Emory University, where he honed his skills and passions.

South actively engaged in student leadership and gained practical experience through internships with Emory Healthcare and the Emory Urban Health Initiative. His academic foundation in health care management, acquired from the Rollins School of Public Health, served as a strong platform for his career. Driven by his passion for serving underserved urban communities, he embarked on a journey that took him to various cities, including Seattle and New York City.

South serves on the senior leadership team at CommonSpirit Health's California Hospital Medical Center in Downtown Los Angeles. He also contributes as an elected official, holding the role of vice president of administration on the Downtown LA Neighborhood Council.
