Meet Jyothi Alagappan, a compassionate and driven veterinarian who thrives on ensuring the well-being of both her team and the animals they serve together. Her journey began at Emory, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and behavioral biology and discovered her passion for medicine and animal care. Emory’s diverse opportunities, from rigorous coursework to unique research experiences, helped hone her skills and broaden her perspective.

After graduating, Alagappan pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian and now serves as Vice President of Medicine Thrive Pet Health Care. Her career highlights include opening multiple general practices and emergency hospitals, significantly improving access to care for pet owners and their pets nationwide.

She is deeply grateful for the impact Emory had on her career path and her current leadership role. She hopes to inspire others just as her mentors at Emory inspired her. When she’s not working, Alagappan enjoys trying new restaurants, playing tennis, and spending time with her dog, family, and friends. She says her work is incredibly fulfilling because she makes a difference in the lives of animals and their families each day.
