Kajal Patel 06Ox 08C 14PH 14M 17MR has called Emory University home for more than 20 years, from her undergraduate and graduate studies to serving as a member of the internal medicine faculty since 2017. Known for her evidence-based, patient-centered approach, she is passionate about primary care and medical education.
In 2023, Patel joined the Emory Academic Internal Medicine Center, and in 2025, she was named a Rollins Distinguished Clinician and Senior Physician. Her career reflects a deep commitment to underserved communities, including her role as medical director and chief medical officer at Healing Community Center, a federally qualified health center that provides comprehensive primary care and supportive services to underserved populations on a sliding fee scale. She also serves on the Emory Faculty Senate, advocating for policies that advance equity and support women in academic medicine.
Beyond her professional achievements, Patel enjoys traveling and spending time with her two sons and their energetic dog, finding joy in the everyday moments that balance her life as a physician, educator, and parent.
