Margaret Gatti-Mays is a highly regarded expert in the field of breast immune-oncology, with more than 50 peer-reviewed publications. Her research is grounded in clinical practice and centers on tumor immunology, with a primary focus on pioneering innovative immunotherapy methods for breast cancer. 

Gatti-Mays places great emphasis on the sacred doctor-patient relationship and has fine-tuned her ability to communicate effectively with patients during her time at Emory. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s in biology from Trinity College, a master’s degree in public health from the Rollins School of Public Health, and a doctor of medicine degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine.

Early in her career, Gatti-Mays served as an assistant research physician in the Laboratory of Tumor Immunology and Biology at the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health. This role marked the beginning of her journey as a translational breast immuno-oncologist, dedicated to bridging the gap between research and medical practice.
