Rumbi Mufuka’s path began at Emory, where she earned her bachelor’s in Political Science and International Studies. Emory gave her the freedom to explore without a map, allowing her to pursue seemingly random courses, internships, and interests that later made perfect sense. After Emory, she pursued her master of arts and PhD, building on her interests in global leadership and strategy. Her career has taken her from analyzing political systems to driving transformational change as a consultant.

When she’s not working, Mufuka is a bookworm at heart, often juggling a few reads—one fiction, one nonfiction, and a book of short stories. She dedicates a lot of time to I Am Willing, the legacy-building initiative she co-founded, which helps individuals, particularly from the Black community, take the first crucial step toward securing their futures and preserving generational wealth. She also enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new places.

Mufuka finds fulfillment in seeing people unlock their potential, especially through I Am Willing. Helping people take control of their future and legacy is an extension of her broader work in consulting and coaching, where she guides leaders through strategic challenges. She says Emory helped shape her approach to problem-solving and success, teaching her to ask the right questions and approach challenges from multiple perspectives. The relationships she built at Emory continue to support and inspire her, providing a network she can always count on.
