Scott G. Parent 13Ox 15C has always been drawn to solving problems. At Emory, he studied economics to understand the root causes of the 2008 financial crisis, sparking a fascination with data analytics that has guided his career. He has since built and led three data teams across industries, most recently focusing on social impact and health care, using data to uncover insights that help organizations operate more effectively and grow.

Parent has been committed to giving back to the Emory community. As a member of the Department of Data and Decision Sciences Advisory Board, he helped launch the DataThink program — now AI.Data Lab — which connects students, nonprofits, and professionals through hands-on consulting projects. Through his leadership, projects with organizations such as GEEARS: Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students and the Better Business Bureau helped the program grow from just five students to more than 80 participants.

Through his professional work and mentorship, Parent demonstrates how data, when paired with curiosity and commitment to community, can improve outcomes.
