Shénae S.V. Miller 21PH pursued a master of public health at Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic while serving as a physician. During this time, she also founded Betta Health, a telehealth company in Jamaica designed to expand access to care for underserved communities when traditional health services were limited. These experiences gave her a unique perspective on how individualized care, population health strategies, and innovative technologies must work together, especially in moments of crisis.

That foundation has been invaluable in her current roles as a physician in orthopedics, sports medicine, and aesthetic medicine; public health practitioner; and now, Fulbright Scholar.

Miller’s journey reflects a sustained commitment to advancing equity, strengthening health systems, and ensuring that research, policy, and innovation translate into meaningful change for patients and communities alike.
