Takeia Horton 07C 09PH 12A

Physician Assistant | Emory Healthcare | Atlanta, GA

Takeia Horton is on a mission to increase the number of minority physician assistants and associates in practice today. After earning her physician assistant degree from Emory School of Medicine in 2014, Horton spent five years with the National Health Service Corps, providing health care to communities with limited access and resources.

As a physician assistant, Horton provides routine primary care in a family practice setting. She is focused on improving the lives and health of others through her work as a physician assistant and a public health professional. Recognizing the lack of diversity among physician assistants, she founded DiversityPA to guide and mentor students in their journey to become physician assistants.

“Emory was instrumental in helping me reach my goals. From the friendships I have made to the professional connections as well, Emory has always been a support in all of my endeavors. I feel as if my career path and friendships would be different if I had never attended Emory University, and I am so grateful for all of those connections I have made.”
