Doctor of Law and Scientific Director
Kershaw Talley Barlow, P.C.
Sacramento, California

Meet William J. Lee, a dedicated professional who leads Sacramento, California-based Kershaw Talley Barlow’s scientific practice law group and supports its nationally recognized complex litigation practice. Lee works at the intersection of epidemiology, law, and policy, collaborating with leading experts to develop scientific evidence and performing epidemiological analyses as an expert himself. His work supports federal and state trial, appellate, and Supreme Court litigations. Lee routinely serves on court-appointed scientific leadership, representing hundreds of thousands of patients in national pharmaceutical and medical device litigations. In recent years, he has developed new lines of causation, liability, and notice evidence that many courts had not previously considered. For his significant contributions to the field of epidemiology and its application to the law, Lee was elected to the prestigious American College of Epidemiology, where he serves on its Ethics and Policy committee and its foundation board of directors.

William loves spending quality time with his wife, Tracy, their cat, Blessing, and their family and friends. He and Tracy enjoy exploring and rediscovering new parts of the greater Sacramento area, even though they’ve both called it home for many years.

He says Emory School of Law instilled in him a sense of purpose in serving others in need. It equipped him with the legal skills to leverage his scientific expertise, allowing him to develop a niche in the highly competitive complex litigation space.
