Zoey Kernodle 14T
Director, Center for the Business of Health
University of North Carolina
Durham, North Carolina
Zoey Kernodle is the inaugural director of the University of North Carolina's (UNC) Center for the Business of Health. In this role, she has worked to transform the center into an academic research and programmatic institution that benefits students, faculty, alumni, the wider North Carolina community, and beyond.
In addition to her responsibilities at the center, Kernodle is currently pursuing a doctor of public health degree at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. She enjoys fostering unique collaborations across different disciplines, an approach that is heavily influenced by the perspectives she gained during her time at Emory's Candler School of Theology.
Her journey at Candler provided Kernodle with the opportunity to start her career from a foundation of deep reflection and instilled in her a high standard of seeking a vocation that prioritizes community and people. She resides in Durham, North Carolina, with her husband, George (also a Candler alumnus), their son, Hans, and their spirited Mini Aussiedoodle, Moira.
