Sarah Baker Coombs 20MBA

Sarah Baker Coombs is an executive coach and career transition expert for high achievers who are outwardly successful and inwardly misaligned. A former McKinsey recruiter and internal coach, Coombs helps driven leaders navigate pivotal career transitions with clarity, confidence, and intention so their next chapter isn’t just impressive, but deeply fulfilling.

With a rare blend of elite institutional experience and rigorous coaching training, Coombs has guided leaders at organizations including Adobe, McKinsey & Company, J.P. Morgan, U.S. Army Special Forces, and Block through moments of professional inflection. Her clients often come to her feeling stuck despite strong credentials, exhausted from constant striving, or uncertain how to translate their strengths into a career that supports both ambition and life. Through coaching, they gain clarity on who they are becoming, make bold yet grounded decisions, and step into roles and paths that align with their values, energy, and long-term vision.

Before founding her coaching practice, Coombs spent more than a decade advising and coaching high performers across sectors. She served as a senior recruiter and executive coach at McKinsey & Company, and as director of alumni career services at Emory University. She is an alumni partner coach with both Emory and Duke University and has delivered guest lectures at both institutions on high-achiever performance and career evolution.

Coombs is an International Coaching Federation–accredited coach and holds an MBA and Advanced Executive Coaching Certificate from Emory’s Goizueta Business School. She earned her BA in Cultural Anthropology from Duke, where she was a recruited Division I athlete on the women’s rowing team. She later coached university-level athletics, an experience that deeply informs her work with driven, achievement-oriented clients.

Known for her grounded, empathetic, and strategic approach, Coombs creates a trusted space where high achievers can slow down, recalibrate, and make aligned leaps forward. Her coaching helps clients stop outsourcing their definition of success and start building careers-and lives-that truly work for them.
