Senior Medical Director | Aimmune Therapeutics | Chapel Hill, NC

An interest in biology and a desire to help others in a significant way led Kari Brown to pursue a career in medicine. As a senior medical director in clinical development at Aimmune Therapeutics, her daily work is not as she would have envisioned it as a medical student, but the same passions drive her efforts. Early access to mentors who displayed resolve and enthusiasm in their work aided Brown in her career development. Following her medical degree, she trained in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University and at Cincinnati Childrenā€™s Hospital in the Division of Allergy and Immunology, where she participated as a sub-investigator in multiple food allergy therapeutic trials. This experience, in combination with her training as a National Institutes of Health-supported TL1 medical scientist, sparked interest in therapeutic development. Aimmune Therapeutics gave her the chance to be part of the team that developed the first regulatory approved treatment for peanut allergy.
