Health psychologist, speaker, and writer
Amsterdam, Netherlands

Kari Leibowitz 12C is an internationally recognized health psychologist, speaker, and writer whose work explores how mindset shapes health and well-being. Her interest in human flourishing began at Emory, where courses such as The Sociology of Happiness and the Emory Tibetan Mind-Body Summer Abroad Program in India sparked her lifelong curiosity about the science of thriving.

After graduation, Leibowitz served as program coordinator for the Emory-Tibet Partnership, helping organize the 2013 visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama — an experience she describes as the best job she’s ever had. She later lived in Tromsø, north of the Arctic Circle, as a Fulbright Scholar before earning a PhD in psychology at Stanford University’s Mind and Body Lab.

Leibowitz is the author of How to Winter: Harness Your Mindset to Thrive on Cold, Dark, or Difficult Days, which encourages readers to find possibility and strength in challenging seasons. Through her writing and workshops, she helps audiences cultivate resilience and reimagine adversity through the power of mindset.

Now based in Amsterdam with her husband, son, and dog, Leibowitz enjoys biking along the canals, hosting friends and family, and practicing her Dutch.
