Matt Sloane began his career at CNN Medical News alongside Dr. Sanjay Gupta, where he reported on a wide range of health and wellness topics, as well as breaking news stories. His dedication and excellence in the field earned him three Daytime Emmy award nominations and a New York Festival award for his outstanding coverage of Diana Nyad's historic swim from Cuba to Key West.

In 2014, following his tenure at CNN, Sloane ventured into the world of drone technology by founding Skyfire. His company provides expertise to public safety agencies regarding the rapidly growing use of drones. Notably, Sloane serves on the National Fire Protection Association's committee on drones and is also a part of the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International’s Air Advocacy Committee.

Sloane and Skyfire have been featured in various reputable publications, including CBS News, the Los Angeles Times, and numerous industry-specific publications. He lives in Huntsville, Ala., with his wife, Amanda 07C, and their son, Brendan, and daughter, Emerie.
