Presiding Judge, Housing and Code Enforcement Division
Atlanta Municipal Court
Atlanta, Georgia

Pierce Hand Seitz 11C is dedicated to ensuring a fair and efficient legal process for everyday citizens. His interest in law was sparked while competing as a member of Emory Mock Trial.

Seitz has served as a private lawyer, felony prosecutor, and nonprofit housing attorney, providing free legal services to tenants facing unsafe living conditions. In his work as a housing lawyer, Seitz has been featured on CNN discussing tenant rights and has published legal articles advocating for greater access to justice for individuals who cannot afford representation.

In 2024, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens appointed Seitz to the Municipal Court of Atlanta, where he presides over civil and criminal cases involving blighted properties, building and zoning codes, and community safety and quality-of-life ordinances. He is both the youngest judge currently serving on the court and the first openly LGBTQ judge to serve full-time.
