Sameer Magdi Alifarag 18L is a problem-solver who thrives in complexity — whether guiding clients through high-stakes bankruptcies or mentoring future lawyers. After graduating with honors from Emory Law, he clerked for a federal bankruptcy judge in Seattle before joining Eversheds Sutherland’s Finance Practice Group in New York.

His practice focuses on restructurings, representing institutional investors, lenders, and committees in some of the nation’s largest Chapter 11 cases. At Emory Law, Alifarag sharpened his analytical thinking and strengthened his commitment to justice, which guide his pro bono work with Human Rights First, the ACLU, the Holloway Project, and other advocacy organizations.
