Marissa Mitchell is a smart, talented, and charismatic presence in media. Her stories have aired in major cities, including Chicago, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C., where she anchors and co-hosts Fox 5 Morning and Good Day DC. The Emmy-nominated and award-winning journalist has been featured on CNN, BBC World News, “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah,” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Before Mitchell interviewed top-tier newsmakers like Oprah Winfrey and obtained her master’s degree in broadcasting on a full-tuition scholarship at Northwestern University, she was a staff writer for The Emory Wheel. Mitchell was also a resident advisor and a member of the Nu Alpha chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She was inducted into the Emory College Hall of Fame and has received dozens of community honors since. Service remains at the center of Mitchell’s professional and personal life. Emory nurtured that gift, and she continues to give back.
