Daniel Goetzel 09C is the Executive Director of Cyber NYC Inventors to Founders, a $100M public-private partnership in New York City focused on building the next generation of cyber startups. Spanning the New York City Economic Development Corporation, several world-class universities, Goldman Sachs, Facebook, Jerusalem Venture Partners, and Fullstack Academy, Cyber NYC is a unique consortium model. Additionally, Goetzel leads a startup accelerator out of Columbia University and a c-level talent network for cyber startups. Previously, Goetzel was the Director of Innovation Initiatives at Johns Hopkins University. During his time there, he launched four incubators and an internal evergreen fund, and led their venture philanthropy and impact investing strategy. Goetzel started his career working in politics in senior finance roles, including on a gubernatorial and senate campaign, and served as employee number 2 on a presidential campaign. He is also the co-founder of Transition Term, a Harvard Kennedy School fellowship program connecting incoming mayors and governors with student consultants during their transition and early days of the administration. Thus far, the teams have worked with 14 mayors and governors across the country.
